City Strings
In this interactive class, your child will learn to play the ukulele while singing songs, playing musical games, and building strong listening skills. Students learn to play together as an ensemble, practicing cooperation, rhythm, and musical awareness in a fun, supportive environment. A special highlight of the class is songwriting! Students are encouraged to create original songs, discovering that self-expression through music can be just as exciting—if not more so—than learning the instrument itself. Younger students may draw, dictate lyrics, or have a teacher help scribe their ideas, making songwriting accessible to every child. Each student is celebrated for their unique voice and imagination—whether their ideas are wise, whimsical, heartfelt, or downright hilarious. Reading skills are helpful but not required. Each child needs to bring an ukulele and a snack.
