New Cottage Arts

Build Your Own Band is a hands-on music class where students work together to create the sound, identity, and performance style of their own group. Students will explore rhythm, voice, simple instruments, songwriting, teamwork, listening skills, and stage presence in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Each class will include a short grounding activity, music warm-ups, rhythm and ensemble games, collaborative song-building, rehearsal time, and reflection. Students may participate through singing, percussion, keyboards, ukulele, guitar, movement, lyrics, or other creative roles depending on the age of the group, student interests, and available instruments.
No prior music experience is required. The class is designed to help students build confidence, creativity, responsibility, focus, and positive peer connection while learning how musicians collaborate as a band.
